Without exaggeration, this was one of the most well-balanced volleyball seasons we have seen in New Jersey in quite some time. Several teams made legitimate cases on their quest to being the top-ranked team this fall in a schedule that showcased parity, excitement, and statement victories week-after-week.
In the end, what matters most is postseason performance, including which teams the victor had to go through in order to hoist a trophy. It was pleasantly difficult this year to etch out a No. 1 squad in New Jersey, all thanks to multiple teams successfully sprinting through a punishing schedule.

13th Old Tappan (20-4)
The Golden Knights began the season with a 16-1 record, capturing big wins over Northern Highlands, Demarest, River Dell and Pascack Hills with postseason victories vs. Mahwah and Pascack Valley. Old Tappan reached the Bergen County championship match, taking IHA to three sets. In the end, losing in the State Sectional Semi-Finals
